Cheese Sauce For Fries Recipe
This rich, creamy cheese sauce is perfect for drizzling over golden fries or using as a dipping sauce. Made with simple ingredients and ready in minutes, it elevates any casual snack or meal.
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese or your favorite cheese
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon paprika optional
- Salt and pepper to taste
Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
Whisk in 2 tablespoons flour for about 1 minute until smooth.
Gradually add 1 cup warm milk, whisking constantly until slightly thickened, 2–3 minutes.
Reduce heat to low and stir in 1½ cups shredded cheddar until smooth.
Mix in ½ teaspoon garlic powder, ½ teaspoon paprika (optional), and salt and pepper to taste.
