Cajun Chicken Sloppy Joes

Juicy, spicy, and perfectly saucy, these Cajun Chicken Sloppy Joes are a quick weeknight favorite packed with bold flavors and ready in 30 minutes.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper optional
  • ½ cup tomato sauce
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 4 hamburger buns toasted
  • Fresh parsley chopped (for garnish)

Instructions
 

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and sauté onion and bell pepper for 5 minutes until soft and fragrant.
  • Add minced garlic, then ground chicken, breaking it up and cooking until browned, about 6–8 minutes.
  • Stir in Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, and cayenne for extra heat.
  • Pour in tomato sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and brown sugar, stirring to combine.
  • Simmer uncovered for 5–7 minutes until the sauce thickens, adding a little water if needed.
  • Spoon the mixture onto toasted buns, top with chopped parsley, and serve hot.
