Buttery Loose Meat Tavern Sandwich

A warm, buttery French bread sandwich loaded with seasoned ground beef in garlic wine and creamy cheddar soup, baked until melting and perfect for cozy family meals.

Ingredients
  

  • 1  loaf French bread
  • 1  lb ground beef
  • 2  Tbsp butter
  • 3.5  oz white cooking wine
  • 3  cloves garlic minced
  • 1  tsp onion powder
  • ½  tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 10.75  oz condensed cheddar cheese soup
  • Dash of black pepper
  • ½  cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 °F (175 °C) and line a baking sheet with foil.
  • In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Brown ground beef with garlic, then add wine, onion powder, and pepper. Simmer until wine reduces, then drain.
  • Stir in Worcestershire, cheddar soup, and shredded cheese. Cook on low until smooth. Cover and remove from heat.
  • Slice French loaf into four sections, then split each like a sub roll.
  • Divide meat mixture between the rolls, pressing slightly to pack.
  • Lightly spray outside of each sandwich, wrap in foil, and bake for 10–15 minutes until hot and melty.
