Preheat oven to 350 °F (175 °C) and line a baking sheet with foil.
In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Brown ground beef with garlic, then add wine, onion powder, and pepper. Simmer until wine reduces, then drain.
Stir in Worcestershire, cheddar soup, and shredded cheese. Cook on low until smooth. Cover and remove from heat.
Slice French loaf into four sections, then split each like a sub roll.
Divide meat mixture between the rolls, pressing slightly to pack.
Lightly spray outside of each sandwich, wrap in foil, and bake for 10–15 minutes until hot and melty.
