Brown Sugar Chops
A perfect blend of sweet, savory, and smoky flavors, these Brown Sugar Chops are seared to golden perfection and coated in a rich, caramelized glaze. Quick, easy, and full of flavor!
- 4 bone-in pork chops
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ¼ cup chicken broth or water
Season the Pork Chops: Pat dry and season both sides with salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and thyme.
Make the Glaze: Mix brown sugar, Dijon mustard, and minced garlic in a small bowl until smooth.
Sear the Pork Chops: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chops for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown.
Add the Glaze: Reduce heat to medium, spread the brown sugar mixture over the chops, and pour chicken broth into the skillet (avoiding direct contact with the meat).
Simmer and Caramelize: Cook for 5–7 minutes, flipping once, until the glaze thickens and the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
Rest and Serve: Let the chops rest for 5 minutes, then drizzle with the caramelized pan sauce before serving.
