Beef Tips and Gravy is a cozy stovetop dish made with tender simmered stew meat in a rich, savory gravy perfect over mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles.

For the Beef and Gravy

  • 1 lb stew meat cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 packet brown gravy mix
  • 1 packet onion soup mix
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 cups water
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Brown the stew meat in a skillet over medium heat for 8 to 10 minutes until well-seared.
  • Stir together the gravy mix, onion soup mix, cream of mushroom soup, and water until smooth.
  • Pour the gravy mixture over the beef and mix to coat evenly.
  • Simmer covered on low for 1½ to 2 hours, stirring occasionally, until the meat is tender and the gravy thickens.
  • Adjust seasoning and serve over mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles.
