Baked Italian Sub Sandwiches

Baked Italian subs loaded with deli meats, melted cheese, and tangy peppers, all toasted in a warm, seasoned hoagie roll—quick to make and great for a crowd.

Ingredients

  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • ½ lb deli ham
  • ½ lb salami
  • ½ lb roast beef or cooked ground beef
  • ¼ lb pepperoni
  • 8 slices provolone or mozzarella cheese
  • cup pickled banana peppers or pepperoncini
  • ½ cup sautéed onions
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 2 tbsp melted butter

Instructions

  • Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) and let it heat while you prepare the sandwiches.
  • Slice each hoagie roll lengthwise, keeping the bottom attached to hold everything together.
  • Stack ham, salami, roast beef (or ground beef), and optional pepperoni inside each roll. Tuck cheese slices between the meats. Add banana peppers and sautéed onions if using.
  • Place the subs on a baking sheet. Brush the tops with melted butter and sprinkle with Italian seasoning.
  • Loosely cover with foil and bake for 10–15 minutes, until the cheese melts and everything is hot.
  • Remove the foil and bake for 2–3 more minutes to crisp the tops. Keep an eye on them so they don’t over-toast.
