Baked Italian Sub Sandwiches
Baked Italian subs loaded with deli meats, melted cheese, and tangy peppers, all toasted in a warm, seasoned hoagie roll—quick to make and great for a crowd.
- 4 hoagie rolls
- ½ lb deli ham
- ½ lb salami
- ½ lb roast beef or cooked ground beef
- ¼ lb pepperoni
- 8 slices provolone or mozzarella cheese
- cup pickled banana peppers or pepperoncini
- ½ cup sautéed onions
- 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
- 2 tbsp melted butter
Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) and let it heat while you prepare the sandwiches.
Slice each hoagie roll lengthwise, keeping the bottom attached to hold everything together.
Stack ham, salami, roast beef (or ground beef), and optional pepperoni inside each roll. Tuck cheese slices between the meats. Add banana peppers and sautéed onions if using.
Place the subs on a baking sheet. Brush the tops with melted butter and sprinkle with Italian seasoning.
Loosely cover with foil and bake for 10–15 minutes, until the cheese melts and everything is hot.
Remove the foil and bake for 2–3 more minutes to crisp the tops. Keep an eye on them so they don’t over-toast.
