Baked Apples With Blue Cheese And Honey
These tender apples, stuffed with blue cheese and walnuts, are a unique treat that’s easy to make and bursting with flavor.
- 4 large apples honeycrisp or granny smith
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter melted
- ¼ cup chopped walnuts or pecans
- 3-4 oz blue cheese crumbled
- 2 tbsp honey plus extra for drizzling
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon
- Fresh thyme optional, for garnish
Preheat oven to 350°f (175°c). Grease a baking dish lightly.
Core apples, leaving bottoms intact for filling. Brush with butter and season with a pinch of cinnamon.
In a bowl, mix nuts, blue cheese, honey, and ground cinnamon.
Fill apples with mixture, packing gently.
Cover baking dish with foil and bake for 25 min. Uncover for the last 10 min to brown.
Drizzle with honey, garnish with thyme (optional), and serve warm.
