Apple Dumplings

The combination of crescent rolls, apples, and soda creates a magical dessert that’s crispy, sweet, and absolutely delicious!

Ingredients

  • 2 cans refrigerated crescent roll dough (8-count)
  • 2 sticks butter melted
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp cinnamon or to taste
  • 1 can 7-Up or Mountain Dew (12 oz)
  • 2 large Granny Smith apples peeled and cored

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Butter a 13 x 9-inch baking dish.
  • Peel the apples, remove the cores, and cut them into eight slices each.
  • Unwrap the crescent roll dough and separate into triangles.
  • Place an apple slice on the wide end of each triangle, roll it up like a croissant, and place them in the prepared baking dish.
  • In a bowl, mix the melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla until smooth. Pour the mixture evenly over the crescent rolls.
  • Pour the soda between the rolls (avoid pouring directly on top). Bake for 35-45 minutes or until the dumplings are golden brown.
  • Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra delicious treat!
