This recipe is the BEST air fryer Soy Sauce Chicken Thighs you will ever try, and the best part is it is also SUPER easy to make!

The chicken is super flavorful and tender, while the skin is crispy. Chicken is marinated in the classic Taiwanese ingredients, soy sauce, dark soy sauce, sugar, five-spice powder, white pepper, and garlic.

I will be the first to admit I was not a big fan of air fryers. Because I live in an apartment, I don’t like when my kitchen is overcrowded with large appliances. However, when I started testing recipes, I instantly fell in love with my soy sauce chicken recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 4 Piece of Chicken Thigh Skin On
  • 3 tbsp of Soy Sauce
  • 2 tbsp of Dark Soy Sauce
  • 1 tbsp of Five Spice Powder
  • 2 tsp of White Pepper
  • 4 tsp of Sugar or Honey
  • 4 cloves of Garlic minced

Instructions:

Step 1: Marinate the chicken with soy sauce, dark soy sauce, five-spice powder, white pepper, sugar, and minced garlic for 30 minutes

Step 2: Add in the chicken in the air fryer skin side facing up. Set the air fryer at 380F for 15 minutes

Tips:

Marinate the chicken in soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and other desired spices for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors infuse.

If you don’t have an air fryer, you can bake at 400F for 20 minutes.

Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness. The internal temperature should reach at least 165°F (74°C).

Adjust the spice level to your preference. Add a pinch of red pepper flakes or Sriracha for heat.
